ANTIOCH — A marijuana grow-house was heavily damaged in a fire around 8:30 p.m. Sunday, police said.

Firefighters responded to a house fire in the 700 block of Wilbur Avenue. As they put out the fire, they called police because it appeared marijuana was being grown inside, said Antioch police Lt. Pat Welch.

No one was injured in the fire, and no one was home at the time, Welch said.

The marijuana-growing setup probably caused the fire, he said.

“Most likely that was the cause of the fire, with the lights and the equipment,” Welch said.

Police are investigating who operated the grow-house.
